Overview
The brief.
Volta Studio came to me with a clear problem — they had strong work but a brand that didn't reflect it. Their existing identity was generic, forgettable, and said nothing about what made them different from every other creative studio competing for the same clients.
The brief was to build a brand identity from the ground up — a visual system that felt bold and confident without being loud, that communicated craft and precision, and that could scale across print, digital, and motion without losing coherence.

The Challenge
Designing for designers.
Architecture studios are among the most critical clients in the design world — they notice everything, they have strong opinions, and they know exactly when something is wrong even if they can't always articulate why. The challenge was building something with enough rigour and specificity to earn the trust of two designers with a decade of combined experience — while still feeling fresh and distinctive rather than like a generic architecture studio identity.
the solution
Material thinking applied to typography.
The identity takes its cues from the studio's architectural approach — the belief that materials should be used honestly, that structure should be visible, and that beauty emerges from precision rather than decoration. The typography is a Swiss grotesque used at extreme scales — enormous at display size, almost uncomfortably small for metadata. The grid is strict and visible — the underlying structure of every layout is legible rather than hidden. The website is built in Framer with custom interactions that mirror the deliberateness of the studio's design process — nothing moves unless it means something.
testimonial
"Working with him felt like a genuine creative collaboration — he pushed back when we were wrong, held his ground when he was right, and delivered something that exceeded what we thought was possible. The website has become our most effective business development tool."
